The Day in the Life of a NEW Novel Idea

As many of my readers know, I’m a teacher by day. That’s part of why my posts are so hit-and-miss. But We’ve been doing testing lately, which for me means…A LOT of walking around in a dead quiet classroom where all I do is watch kids take a test. It’s just as boring as you would assume. The quiet moments in life are typically when I get ideas for stories. Some are just that — stories, and they’ll go under things like short story or character sketches. But then there are times when I can see an entire world open, and an entire novel comes to life in hours of testing. The latter happened this year. So not only am I revising Being Schooled, I’m frantically getting as many scenes as I can think of out of my head for the new one I think I’m going to call Shared Doll. The image depicts my starting point.
